Reading is how I make sense of things.

I’m Daniel Offin, and I’ve been a reader since I was eight years old. That’s not a polished origin story — it’s just true. Before I understood what books could do, I was already inside them, working my way through whatever was on the shelf.

What started as a childhood habit became a lifelong way of thinking. I read to understand how the world works, how decisions get made, why people believe what they believe, and what it means to live well. Those questions don’t go away. Neither does the reading.

From book clubs to building a site

For a stretch of years, I was part of a reading group. That experience changed how I think about recommendations. When you sit across from real people and watch which books move them — which ones get argued over and re-read, and which ones get politely set aside — you stop trusting bestseller lists quite so much.

A book that ranks doesn’t necessarily resonate. A book that resonates doesn’t always rank. The gap between “widely sold” and “genuinely worth your time” is what BookwormWizard exists to close.

The marketer who reads too much

By profession, I work in digital marketing. That background shapes how I approach books — I’m attuned to what’s being said and what’s being sold. I notice when a business book is forty pages of real insight stretched into two hundred and eighty. I notice when a spiritual book trades depth for relatability.

What you’ll get here isn’t enthusiasm for its own sake. It’s a considered opinion from someone who reads critically — because the work has taught me to.
